Surrisi, 22, of O’Fallon, Mo. died Friday, July 30 at the Arapaho campgrounds in Miramiguoa Park after a day of drinking and swimming with a group of friends during a party hosted by St. Louis-based radio station 105.7 The Point. SULLIVAN – The end of the legal battle over the City of Sullivan’s controversial sewer-tap fee will be heard Sept. 8, 2010 in the Missouri Supreme Court. The state’s highest court will determine if a state appellate court got it right when (that court) ruled against the city’s $3,750 - $4,250 tap fee. The Missouri Court of Appeals Southern District on March 31 reversed a Crawford County judgment that allowed the City of Sullivan to charge some residents up to $4,250 for a sewer connection fee while charging others as little as $60. SULLIVAN – Fake pot, which goes by K2, Orange Crush and other slick names, is now just as illegal as the real stuff. A new law that took effect Aug. 28 carries penalties that are identical to those for possession of marijuana. Beginning Saturday, possession of K2 – a substance similar to marijuana – will be a misdemeanor. Possession of more than 35 grams of it will be a felony, just as it would for marijuana. Missouri is the fifth state to ban the mixture of dried herbs laced with chemicals that are said to mirror the affects of marijuana.......
