SULLIVAN – After more than three decades on Main Street, the University of Cosmetology has moved to a more visible location on the South Service Road. Now open in the former Movie Gallery building near Subway and Wally’s Hardware, the University of Cosmetology is already seen an increase in interest. “It’s a good location and we have better visibility,” said Annette Hill, who owns the cosmetology school. When a buyer purchased the Main Street building a few months ago and the old Movie Gallery location became available, Hill said she jumped at the chance to move and give the school better exposure. So far it’s working. People were trying to get in the school on Monday and Tuesday.....
A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the gazebo in downtown Sullivan for 18-month-old Harper Creek, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. Tina Lawrence, pastor at New Life of Hope Church, will lead the vigil. SULLIVAN -- Two women were injured in a two-vehicle crash shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday that occurred on Springfield Road near Sonic. A pickup truck and a car were involved in the accident that blocked the roadway for roughly 30 minutes. The crash occurred at the intersection of Fisher Street and W. Springfield Road when Wilma Tutterrow, 92, of Sullivan was driving a 1994 Buick Century north on Fisher Street and failed to yield the right of way to Amanda Gillette, 21, of Sullivan who was driving a 1977 Ford F-150 west on Springfield Road, an accident report from the Sullivan Police Department said.
